These pages are designed as close as possible to the recommendations of the W3C for my actual ability and therefor separate the logical content and its appearance. If you click your right mouse button and chose the show-source menu item you can see the logical structure of the content in the underlying html file. External CSS-files, Cascading Style Sheets, provide the color design and the positioning of each element of the website.

After we had recognized that search engines had problems to find our pages due to the frame-design of our website we decided to update it in this modern style. Furthermore our javascript navigation caused considerable download time for users with analogue web access or with ISDN.

This procedure implicates several advantages but also one serious disadvantage. Older browsers with inadequate support of CSS can not or not completely interpret the instructions for design. It is even possible that some parts become indecipherable. In this respect it is worthwile to update to a modern browser. You can get one free of charge from different vendors via download. Zudem sprechen unsere Logfiles eine relativ deutliche Sprache. Netscape 4.xx und Microsofts Internet Explorer 4.x sind kaum noch vertreten, so dass wir sie wohl vernachlässigen dürfen.

Commendable without any restriction is the Firefox browser which the open source community has developped and which I could test since the 0.8-version. Since then I use Firefox in his actual version by myself. On the other hand each browser compliant to standards will suffice. Our list of downloads is not exhaustive.

Irrespective which browser eventually is used it is recommended due to security purposes to update at regular intervals. Nobody nowadays should use fossils like the Netscape prior to the version 7 or an Internet Explorer from Microsoft older than the actual version 6.
